Applications for the Nebula Research Data Fellowship for the Spring 2026 semester will open on November 17, 2025 and close on December 15, 2025.
This is a paid fellowship opportunity intended for engineering undergraduate students ($17/hour; up to 10 hours/week). The program will run in the Spring of 2026, from 02/02/2026 to 05/01/2026.
Requirements:
Be an engineering undergraduate student or a new transfer student accepted into an engineering program with an anticipated graduation date of 2027 or sooner.
Have the ability to work flexible hours/location on campus.
Meet weekly with a graduate student/postdoc research mentor for progress review of your research project.
Give a presentation at the closing meeting of the Nebula Research Data Fellowship program.
Application Process and Timeline:
Student applications are accepted via this google form - deadline is Monday, December 15, 2025.
Application materials to be prepared ahead of time include:
(1) Your prior data analysis and/or research experience (< 250 words);
(2) A list of the programming and/or data analysis tools that you have used previously and how experienced you would rate yourself (e.g., MATLAB, Python, R, Stata);
(3) A single paragraph describing your expectations for this program;
(4) Your resume.
1st round interviews (10 minutes long) will take place from December 16-19, 2025 over Zoom.
Research labs will then review the application information and contact prospective candidates for 2nd round interviews between January 5-16 2026.
The ADR office will make the final decision and inform successful candidates on January 20, 2026.
The fellowship begins on February 2, 2026 and ends on May 1, 2026.
