The Nebula Research Data Fellowship is an experiential learning initiative that empowers students with data analysis skills through research. Sponsored by the Associate Dean for Research Office in the Clark School of Engineering at the University of Maryland (UMD), Nebula is a bilateral fellowship based on a one-to-one mentorship model that pairs undergraduate engineers with graduate-level supervisors to conduct a semester-long research project with data analysis at its center. These research experiences foster essential data science skills, critical thinking, collaboration with academic researchers, and the opportunity to solve real-world problems across various engineering fields.
Develop a future workforce for data-driven industries and the U.S. research enterprise
Enhance data literacy, research competencies, and teamwork
Foster critical-thinking and problem-solving skills through collaborative exploration
